Questions for 2009 City of Houston candidatesThe Citizens' Transportation Coalition (CTC) is an all-volunteer grassroots transportation advocacy organization. Formed in 2004, we are interested in transportation planning issues and opportunities across the 8-county Houston region. Do City of Houston candidates care about your neighborhood's transportation needs? We asked this year's candidates for Mayor, Controller, and Houston City Council what they think about several transportation policy issues that affect neighborhoods. Most questions included background information. Our questions and the candidates' responses are presented by electoral race:
Process notesCTC volunteers contacted all 62 of the candidates by email to invite them to participate in our survey. Questions were sent to candidates and returned by email, fax, and postal service. All candidates received the same questions. Candidate responses are presented verbatim. See the Houston City Secretary's website for the list of candidates and links to their 2009 Campaign Finance Reports. We have made every effort to include every candidate. We are continuing to post responses as they come in. If you are interested in seeing answers from a candidate who has not yet responded, we invite you to contact them directly and urge them to participate. Last updated Wednesday, Oct 14, 2009. |
